Welcome New Followers!

Thanks to Karen at My Stitchy Ramblings I see so many new followers here on my little blog.  I'm so happy to have some new friends to share with.  What a wonderful way to start the week and the month! Welcome, welcome, welcome!

And, welcome to April.  I'm so pleased to have some sun and slightly warmer temperatures here in Massachusetts.  It was a much longer winter than last year for us but I'm optimistic that we've finally turned the corner.  I know I need to get the March finishes posted, but it's been crazy busy lately.  Between the holiday weekend, swim team starting, high school orientation, skating competitions, Boy Scout merit badge university, the first flight for my Civil Air Patrol son, Girl Scouts and work, there just hasn't been time to iron and photograph the latest pieces.  It WILL happen this week.

I started March with grand plans for being a bit more productive than in February, but alas, the end of the month got away from me.  Now, looking at April, there's hope though.  School vacation should yield a little quiet time.  Swim meets and skating competitions should give me several hours of sitting so I can make some good progress.   But, what's on the list this month?

Hmmm.  I'm feeling so "spring-y" with the warm up, I might need to find something that puts that mood into fabric and fibres.  Easter was so early this year and the snow hadn't yet melted so I just couldn't get motivated to do any of those cute little bunny/chick projects.  Perhaps some of those will make the rotation this month.  I guess you'll just have to wait and see.  I will make it a goal to post some project plans by the end of the week - complete with pictures!

Alright, I'm off to start this Monday for real now.  Thanks again for stopping by and leaving your comments.  It's great to get to know you all!

  3. Found your blog through Karen's blog and I'm so glad that she mentioned yours. What a busy lady you are and involved in so many great things. My two sons are all grown with teens and 20 years plus old sons of their own now. I really do miss the days of the baseball and football games. The scouts and all. Busy but well worth the time.

I'm now your newest follower and am looking forward for your next post.

Some Summer Finishes

Hello Everyone! Ahhh summer.  So many distractions, so little time.  I am still stitching away here in toasty warm Massachusetts, but I've sadly been neglecting all my followers and not updating you on the progress.  What can I say?  Is a picture worth 1000 words? Sorry to say the computer just doesn't make it down to the beach or the pool - sand, water, electronics - bad combination.  But, now that I'm back at my desk I can diligently share with you all the wonderful progress I'm making on my never-ending list of projects. Mill Hill Dragonfly Such a summery little guy.  Although a close up would be better you can kind of get an idea of the excellent teal and lime green colors on this one. Lizzie Kate Green Flip-It Save Water The third one I've finished in the series - I should have bought all 6 patterns!  I think this one goes in the kids bathroom.  Every little reminder I can get in before they jump in the shower for 30 minute...

Have I Forgotten How to Write a Blog Post?

Wow...so five plus years has gone by since my last post. I'm trying to remember how to even find my voice for a blog post. Can you forget how to write a post??? I'm honestly not quite sure where the time has gone although it's been busy with getting my oldest son off to college, my other son just about ready to go to college and my daughter through some skating ups and downs. Not to mention work, house, life in general. Admittedly, these other intrusions caused a lapse in my stitching. For, oh, about 3 years! I managed to get a few months of stitching in last year but it was fairly short-lived. There were a couple finishes in 2017 though.                                                     Little House Needleworks - Music & Books                                   ...

Setting a Record

Two posts in three days!  Yes, I do believe this is a record.  I have been merrily stitching along and finished my little blue owl. Blue Owl on Branch (Cherry Hill Stitchery) He's just so adorable.  The lighting here gives this a pink/orange look, but it's actually a light gray Jobelan.  I really do like this fabric.  It's so soft that it works well whether I use the frame or just roll it as I'm stitching.  I imagine this might be more difficult with large projects, but for these small projects it's really great. As soon as I finished this up, I just had to go digging through my stash to see what new project I could start to fill in the space in my WIPs bag.  Of course I replaced one project with two new ones. First up. Dragonfly Ornament (Mill Hill) Summer themes continuing here. I think I put in about 30 minutes on this sorting thread and getting the basic stitches done. The majority of what remains is the beadwork and backstitch. ...
