So easily distracted...

As some of you may have read before I have an unbelievable amount of stash, definitely enough for a few lifetimes. And, lately, it seems I'm just getting distracted from my current projects by nice little designs I come across in the stash.  Oh, if only there were enough hours in the day to do it all... What do you think?  Is this because my current projects are not really stimulating?  Or am I just suffering from chronic over-stimulation by too much stash?  Hmmm.  New rule, no looking at any other projects until I finish at least a bit of what I have in progress!

So, a stitching update.  You can probably guess what the story is - still working on several items.  A couple quick pics for you all though.

Tomato - Thea Gouverneur

I just love the 32 ct fabric and stitching with one thread.  It looks so delicate.

Vervaco - Small Beach House

And this one just started (see earlier comment about distractions from my stash!).  You can't tell yet, but there's a great little beach house scene here - it just screams summer days!

Quince - Eva Rosenstand

The last of my fruit series - I can't wait to wrap up and frame all 4 of them.  I did notice that the colors on this one as directed seem to be a bit off - the brown in the center is a bit too dark I think.  I'm weighing the possibility of frogging it all out and going with the lighter brown in the middle and leaving the dark for the edges.  I just can't decide.  It may need to wait until finished so I can see how it looks altogether.  I'm a bit disappointed since the other patterns in the series didn't have any issues with the pattern/color codes.  At any rate, I'm looking forward to selecting a frame design for the four pieces and putting them on display.  It's so close I can just taste it!

Until next time...have a great week!

  1. Procrastination is my problem, thinking what to do and when to do it and getting nowhere at all! You are making great progress on them all, well done.

  2. I know that feeling of distraction only too well! Just far too much temptation out there by all those wonderful designers.

  3. Great update and progress pics. I started a Bothy Thread cut-thru SAL on my blog and all I want to work on is that one and not the other 23 in my rotation. Or to start more cut-thrus.

Have I Forgotten How to Write a Blog Post?

Wow...so five plus years has gone by since my last post. I'm trying to remember how to even find my voice for a blog post. Can you forget how to write a post??? I'm honestly not quite sure where the time has gone although it's been busy with getting my oldest son off to college, my other son just about ready to go to college and my daughter through some skating ups and downs. Not to mention work, house, life in general. Admittedly, these other intrusions caused a lapse in my stitching. For, oh, about 3 years! I managed to get a few months of stitching in last year but it was fairly short-lived. There were a couple finishes in 2017 though.                                                     Little House Needleworks - Music & Books                                                     Started: 7/11/2018                                                     Finished: 10/6/2017 Certainly not my best photography here but I did really like the project. The colors match ou

Some Summer Finishes

Hello Everyone! Ahhh summer.  So many distractions, so little time.  I am still stitching away here in toasty warm Massachusetts, but I've sadly been neglecting all my followers and not updating you on the progress.  What can I say?  Is a picture worth 1000 words? Sorry to say the computer just doesn't make it down to the beach or the pool - sand, water, electronics - bad combination.  But, now that I'm back at my desk I can diligently share with you all the wonderful progress I'm making on my never-ending list of projects. Mill Hill Dragonfly Such a summery little guy.  Although a close up would be better you can kind of get an idea of the excellent teal and lime green colors on this one. Lizzie Kate Green Flip-It Save Water The third one I've finished in the series - I should have bought all 6 patterns!  I think this one goes in the kids bathroom.  Every little reminder I can get in before they jump in the shower for 30 minutes is worth a try.

June at the 1/3rd Mark

So, June 10th has arrived.  I'm officially 1/3 of the way through the month and I think I've got a whopping one post so far. Not really living up to my plans to keep regular updates coming...hmmm.  Seems like a good goal to keep working on.  In that spirit, here's the progress for the month so far.  There are quite a few pictures here so be warned. A few new finishes. Honey Pot (Mill Hill) What can I say?  It just feels like summer to me when I look at this design.  Love the little bee charm as well.  The only challenge was the crazy small gold beads with full cross stitches through them.  I had my doubts as to whether I would finish them - so frustrating sometimes when I can't get that second half of the stitch through the bead. Flip-It June (Lizzie Kate) Yep, another one.  So far that's February, March, April, May and June completed (I missed January so that's a 2014 project). Laundry Wahine Style (Silver Needle) This is the first Secret Ne
