One of my fellow bloggers, The Sampler Girl, posted this quote on her blog recently and I just had to repost:
May is a time to forget the demands of housework and go out to experience the delight of apple blossoms. ... it occurs to me now that it is a good thing for any parents to stop now and then and wonder what memories they are giving their children. We all try hard to leave real property, but memories are property of the heart.
- Gladys Taber.
This just perfectly sums up how I feel when spring arrives here in Massachusetts. I came home yesterday to see my children outside in the sun jumping on the trampoline while the dog ran in circles barking underneath. It's a scene that brings me unbelievable peace and joy and I wish I could bottle it up and keep the feeling when the stress of life/work/you name it comes around.
At any rate, welcome beautiful May - I'm so glad you're back!
I do have a few stitching updates to share. Finally a few finishes!
April Flip-It - Lizzie Kate
Two Penguins - Lanarte
Luck - Shepherd's Bush
I was so happy to finally have a few items in my to-stitch pile that were ready for finish-finishing! And, even better, I was able to start some new projects because I moved a few out. See how good I am at following my new rule! No new starts without a finish. Hmmm. That may last another month, or maybe a week...well, let's just be grateful it worked for a few days!
I'll be back shortly with some spring pictures and updates on the new projects! For now, I must go enjoy the beautiful weather and find some way to create memories with my children.

Congrats on the adorable finishes. You deserve a new start or two or three.

some great finishes - love the Irish one especially - hugs, Amanda
ReplyDeleteThe laughter and joy of children is always a tonic, I love to sit in my garden and listening to my neighbours family having fun. You do miss it when you own are grown up and left the nest. Laughter is the best medicine!
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching.
