Good Progress

Well, I think I'm looking pretty good for my January finishes.  I've got several targeted to wrap up this month - Cherries (Eva Rosenstand), Drosselmayer (Mill Hill), Ballet Silhouette #2 (Lanarte), Through the Woods (Mill Hill), Field of Sunflowers (Permin) and Trio of Penguins (Lanarte).  I'm doing better with my photo log as well so I've got pictures of the updates too this time.  Yay!

                                                    Field of Sunflowers (Permin)

This is the third in the series that I started last year.  I'm finally going to be ready to have all 3 framed for my living room. Can't wait to post a picture of them on the wall!

                                                    Through the Woods (Mill Hill)

The first larger perforated paper project I've done.  This one has a lot of beadwork and I'm going to be glad to finish with the the last color in the next day or so and get this ready for my winter decor collection.

                                                    Trio of Penguins (Lanarte)

So, there were a couple of false starts on this one.  Had to get used to all half stitches over one on 27 ct evenweave.  I was surprised how after a while my eyes truly did adjust to counting those tiny squares.

                                                    Cherries (Eva Rosenstand)

This is the first of four in the series for my kitchen.  This is also my "take a break" project this month.  The large stitches since it's over 2 make this one super easy to work on late in the evening.

                                                     Drosselmayer (Mill Hill)

So far so good!  Ornament #2 for my Nutcracker series - I should have these all finished in the next couple of months - just the Mouse King, Prince and Nutcracker left.

                                                    Ballet Silhouette #2 (Lanarte)

Another over 1 on 27 ct (very soft) evenweave.  I love the monochromatic stitching for a change - so nice to not have to switch threads.

Also, got a couple of new starts this week - Field of Sunflowers by Anchor (a beginner kit I know) but a chance to show my daughter the larger stitches - maybe I can get her started?  Also, I Didn't Do It by Dimensions.  My boys love the adorable puppy on that one.  Although he doesn't look like our Toby he certainly must behave like him.

That's all for now folks.  I'll be sure to post by the end of the month with the final update on the finishes!

Have I Forgotten How to Write a Blog Post?

Wow...so five plus years has gone by since my last post. I'm trying to remember how to even find my voice for a blog post. Can you forget how to write a post??? I'm honestly not quite sure where the time has gone although it's been busy with getting my oldest son off to college, my other son just about ready to go to college and my daughter through some skating ups and downs. Not to mention work, house, life in general. Admittedly, these other intrusions caused a lapse in my stitching. For, oh, about 3 years! I managed to get a few months of stitching in last year but it was fairly short-lived. There were a couple finishes in 2017 though.                                                     Little House Needleworks - Music & Books                                                     Started: 7/11/2018                                                     Finished: 10/6/2017 Certainly not my best photography here but I did really like the project. The colors match ou

Some Summer Finishes

Hello Everyone! Ahhh summer.  So many distractions, so little time.  I am still stitching away here in toasty warm Massachusetts, but I've sadly been neglecting all my followers and not updating you on the progress.  What can I say?  Is a picture worth 1000 words? Sorry to say the computer just doesn't make it down to the beach or the pool - sand, water, electronics - bad combination.  But, now that I'm back at my desk I can diligently share with you all the wonderful progress I'm making on my never-ending list of projects. Mill Hill Dragonfly Such a summery little guy.  Although a close up would be better you can kind of get an idea of the excellent teal and lime green colors on this one. Lizzie Kate Green Flip-It Save Water The third one I've finished in the series - I should have bought all 6 patterns!  I think this one goes in the kids bathroom.  Every little reminder I can get in before they jump in the shower for 30 minutes is worth a try.

June at the 1/3rd Mark

So, June 10th has arrived.  I'm officially 1/3 of the way through the month and I think I've got a whopping one post so far. Not really living up to my plans to keep regular updates coming...hmmm.  Seems like a good goal to keep working on.  In that spirit, here's the progress for the month so far.  There are quite a few pictures here so be warned. A few new finishes. Honey Pot (Mill Hill) What can I say?  It just feels like summer to me when I look at this design.  Love the little bee charm as well.  The only challenge was the crazy small gold beads with full cross stitches through them.  I had my doubts as to whether I would finish them - so frustrating sometimes when I can't get that second half of the stitch through the bead. Flip-It June (Lizzie Kate) Yep, another one.  So far that's February, March, April, May and June completed (I missed January so that's a 2014 project). Laundry Wahine Style (Silver Needle) This is the first Secret Ne
