So easily distracted...

As some of you may have read before I have an unbelievable amount of stash, definitely enough for a few lifetimes. And, lately, it seems I'm just getting distracted from my current projects by nice little designs I come across in the stash.  Oh, if only there were enough hours in the day to do it all... What do you think?  Is this because my current projects are not really stimulating?  Or am I just suffering from chronic over-stimulation by too much stash?  Hmmm.  New rule, no looking at any other projects until I finish at least a bit of what I have in progress! So, a stitching update.  You can probably guess what the story is - still working on several items.  A couple quick pics for you all though. Tomato - Thea Gouverneur I just love the 32 ct fabric and stitching with one thread.  It looks so delicate. Vervaco - Small Beach House And this one just started (see earlier comment about distractions from my stash!).  You can'...

Spring is Finally Here!

I was so excited this weekend to see the green buds on the trees in our yard.  It's been rather a long winter for us and it's so wonderful to have 70 degree weather and some signs of spring.  Unfortunately today we're back to gray skies and drizzle, but I have faith that we're moving in the right direction.  I'm happy to say I'm getting back into my stitching again.  The brief hiatus to focus on the kids was necessary.  We had a great weekend watching my daughter at her first ice skating show.  She did a great job and I was a very proud mama watching her out there giving her all to it!  The boys enjoyed their week of school vacation and returned to school yesterday energized and ready to wrap up this year.  Only 8 1/2 weeks left!  I look forward to summer vacation as much as they do I think. So, no stitching updates today, just a quick update on what's happening with us and a little "hooray! for spring" shout.  But I'm feeling energize...

Long Time...No Posts

Hello All, It's been a ridiculously long time since I've managed to post here on my blog.  It has been a very busy few weeks for us.  Before I go into that though, let me just comment on the explosions at the Boston Marathon yesterday.  Although not a Boston native, I have been here for 20 years.  Prior to moving here, I had no idea what the Boston Marathon was much less how important a day it is to folks in the city and neighboring areas.  This is truly a special day for Bostonians.  We revel in the return of spring, watch runners with anticipation, not only for the elite athletes vying for the crown, but for regular folks raising money for great charities, and we come out to celebrate our local sports teams and spend time with family and friends.  As the first day of our week-long school vacation families are out for the first time after a long, cold winter, together enjoying the sun and the festivities.  Boston is a college town with hundreds...

Welcome New Followers!

Thanks to Karen at My Stitchy Ramblings I see so many new followers here on my little blog.  I'm so happy to have some new friends to share with.  What a wonderful way to start the week and the month! Welcome, welcome, welcome! And, welcome to April.  I'm so pleased to have some sun and slightly warmer temperatures here in Massachusetts.  It was a much longer winter than last year for us but I'm optimistic that we've finally turned the corner.  I know I need to get the March finishes posted, but it's been crazy busy lately.  Between the holiday weekend, swim team starting, high school orientation, skating competitions, Boy Scout merit badge university, the first flight for my Civil Air Patrol son, Girl Scouts and work, there just hasn't been time to iron and photograph the latest pieces.  It WILL happen this week. I started March with grand plans for being a bit more productive than in February, but alas, the end of the month got away from me. ...
